FinalNeedBase is an independent, free set of browser calculators for high school and college course grades. The job is simple: take the numbers from your syllabus (or the category averages you already trust), and answer what you need on a remaining exam — or where the course sits under those weights — before you burn another late night guessing.

Math runs in your browser (a Web Worker when the page can use one). No account. No email gate. Close the tab and the inputs leave with it. We do not log into Canvas, Blackboard, Google Classroom, or any other LMS.

Who it's for

Students who already know three numbers — current grade, final weight, target — and want the minimum exam score. People rebuilding “current” from homework / quizzes / exams because the portal is full of zeros. High schoolers with quarter + semester-exam layouts. Anyone who only needs a percent mapped to a letter band.

If your instructor already posted the official total, trust that. Use this site to plan while work is still open, or to check a hand calculation against the syllabus percents.

Course grades, not admissions GPA theater

FinalNeedBase answers “what do I need on the final?” and “how do these category weights add up?” It is not an admissions GPA engine, not a fake transcript, and not a Canvas extension. Those are different jobs. A few GPA helpers may show up later; they will not pretend to be every college’s scale.
