When to use

When not to

Assumptions
Equal weight per row unless you switch to points mode (sum earned / sum possible). Dropped scores must be omitted from the list.
How it works
percent mode: avg = Σ(score) / n points mode: avg = Σ(earned) / Σ(possible) × 100
- Enter each score (or earned/possible pairs).
- Omit any dropped quiz.
- Read the mean percent and letter.

Use points mode when totals differ.
Gotchas
- Averaging percents of unequal point values is quietly wrong — use points mode.
- Including a dropped quiz pulls the mean down.
- This is not weighted GPA.
- One huge project + tiny quizzes with “equal weight” in this tool will not match a weighted syllabus.
