What do I need on my final to pass?
Defaults aim at a pass line, not an A chase. Set the cutoff your syllabus actually uses (60, 70, or higher for some majors), then read the minimum exam score. If the number is low, you can still study — you just know the floor.

When to use — and when not to
When to use
You only care about passing; scholarship / eligibility needs a D or better; anxiety math at 1 a.m.
When not to
Hunting an A− — use what do I need on my final with a higher target. Categories unknown — weighted rebuild first.
Assumptions
Pass default 60% (change to 70+ if required). Current excludes final.
How it works
needed = (pass_cutoff − current × (1 − w)) / w
- Set pass cutoff.
- Enter current and final weight.
- Read minimum exam score.
Examples
current 68, final 25%, pass 60
needed ≈ 36% — already clear if you sit the exam
current 58, final 40%, pass 70
needed ≈ 88%
Gotchas
- Some programs require 75% in the major course — change the cutoff.
- Passing the final vs passing the course are different rules on some syllabi.
- A required final can still fail you on attendance even if the math is safe — policy ≠ formula.
