When to use

Assumptions
Equal weight per score unless you convert to one points total yourself. Dropped tests must be left out of the list.
How it works
avg = Σ(score) / n or points: Σ(earned) / Σ(possible) × 100
- List each test as a percent, or convert earned/possible first.
- Omit any dropped test.
- Read the mean and letter.

Prefer one points total when maxima match.
Gotchas
- Averaging percents from 20-point and 100-point tests as equals warps the result — use points.
- A curve applied after the fact is not in this mean.
- This is not “what do I need on the next test” unless every remaining item is equal weight — then solve by hand or use the needed tools.
