Final grade calculator for college
College finals are often 20–40% with category averages above them. If you already have a trusted current %, use the three boxes. If not, rebuild categories on the weighted pages, then come back.

Estimated course grade: 27.6%
When to use — and when not to
When to use
University syllabus with a clear final percent; letter grades with ±; checking an A− chase before packing for break.
When not to
High school quarters — semester / quarter tools. Admissions GPA games — not this site’s job.
Assumptions
Current excludes the final. College letter scale defaults to ±; switch to simple 90/80/70 if needed.
How it works
needed = (target − current × (1 − w)) / w
- Pull final weight from the syllabus (not a guess).
- Enter current without the final.
- Set target percent or letter cutoff.
Examples
current 87, final 25%, target A− 90
needed ≈ 99%
current 74, final 35%, pass 70
needed ≈ 62.6% — already safe if you sit it
Gotchas
- Plus/minus cutoffs vary by department.
- Some colleges allow the final to replace a midterm — that needs a custom model.
- Not an advising tool for probation / dean decisions.
